Her Campus USF x UT brunch: Let the good times roll At Oxford Exchange!

12:55 AM

Today was the very first Her Campus get together with my chapter at University of South Florida and the University of Tampa chapter. I'm so glad I got to attend because not only did I meet some amazing girls, but the Oxford Exchange was AMAZING!

I've always been envious of people who live in places like Los Angeles or Boston because I thought only places like that had cool restaurants and hang out spots. In the 14 years I've been in florida, I've never found any cool places that I'd love to visit again and again with friends (at least, not in Tampa), but that's suddenly all changed. Oxford Exchange was so cool... okay, that's a lame way to describe it, but I couldn't help but take pictures of everything. There were antiques and books (I love books) and a fresh tea bar and this room that looked like it was outside because the ceiling was glass. It was all very chic and the kind of place I would imagine very fashionable people hanging out.

They have a bookstore, the cafe (one for fresh tea and another for fresh coffee), the main restaurant, a shop, and upstairs space that can be rented out. They offer book signings and have a monthly book club! In addition, they host special events, such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate event planning, and they even offer interior design services... and I can see why, they place was beautiful!

Built in 1891, the building is a piece of local history and it's redesign was inspired by places like the dining halls at Oxford University and the Wolseley on Piccadilly, London. Visit their site or their blog to learn more and make reservations!

We all met up for brunch, which is the OX's specialty. I was surprised that despite some of the expensive items in the shop (um, $190 for empty vintage perfume bottles! No thank you.), the food was really cheap. I got a huge bowl of oatmeal with fresh fruit and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice for just $12 with tip and tax included. Because our group was so large, we had a set menu, but they let us order a few things off of the normal menu if they weren't too crazy. I NEED to go back and try the other items on the menu because everyone's food looked so good and I wanted to taste it all! Now onto the photos!
